Macy Gracey

Happy First Birthday Macy Lou!
Here you are just 3 weeks before you were born!

Right after you were born. What a blessing you are!

If you're lucky, you'll look JUST like her!

We love  you so so much. You have brought SO much joy and delight to all of us. You just had your one year old checkup and you H.A.T.E.D it. Three shots AND a blood test. How dare they. You are now in the 9th percentile for your weight, 20th percentile for your height, and 75th percentile for your head! We assume this is the reason you aren't walking yet, or even trying to. Or you're just lazy. You're a great eater although your parents are Com.plete. Mor.ons. We have been feeding you whole milk from a bottle instead of a sippy cup (YOU prefer this), we have been giving you about 24 oz of milk per day when all you need is 16, AND I don't think I have been talking to you enough because you can't say 5 words yet. COME ON, I could have barked at you for the first 6 months of your life and you would have found it just as instructional as if I were reading you the dictionary. YOU try talking to someone who refuses to answer you and gives you no indication that she can distinguish your voice from the dishwasher.

However, you are becoming a person now! Your sweet, babbling personality is so fun and MUCH more enjoyable. There used to only be so many ways we could entertain you: Let's walk into the kitchen again! Let's look out the window! Here, chew on my finger! Now, you're talking, listening, crawling, playing, and developing into a very sweet little girl.

The majority of this past month has been spent watching you in amazement at how fast of a crawler you are. And how fast you can transition from a crawling position to a sitting one with a very mischievous "I didn't eat it, there. is .Nothing. In. My. Mouth. so. just. keep. walking." look in your eyes. You crawl faster than most other kids your age, which means you should be reading by the time you're 16. Make us proud.

You have the sweetest personality and we can't get enough of you. You love when Maddi and I sing and dance with you. You love your playtime with daddy and will do anything to get his attention. You love making everyone laugh and often get shy when too many people, more than 3, are around. You are the baby that has to be walked around by all the nursery workers because you won't stop crying for mommy and daddy. Once you cried for over an hour and they had to call us to come pick you up. You're getting better with that.

You still love your sleep and can now say "nigh, nigh" when we lay you down in your crib. You can also say Da Da but refuse to even make the mmm sound for Mama. You love to clap your hands and smile with your little wrinkled up nose. You are absolutely the sweetest baby. You love fruit, boiled egg whites, and green beans. And, when your dad is home, your favorites are ice cream, ice, chocolate cake, M&M blizzards, and milk shakes. He is so smitten with you and you know it.

You can disappear in the two seconds it takes me to set you on the floor and say, "I gotta go get your diaper, stay RIGHT THERE." You don't get into too much trouble when I'm not in the room to catch you because what's the fun in that? The fun is knowing that you're not supposed to open that drawer, and when I look at you and say, "Nu uh uh" you go ahead, jerk open the drawer then flee the room giggling.

Lately, you have started to fore go your morning nap. CUT IT OUT. You love going on walks, playing in sand, mud, or dirt, and watching sister run around and play. You LOVE when she gets home from school. She often runs to you, whisks you up off the floor, and heads straight to her room with you. You don't even mind letting her be the princess or queen while she proudly announces you as the dog, pig, or slave. Which ever fits the particular storyline best. Last week, while practicing for her part in the Jack and Jill play, she was dumbfounded as to what you should be. Then, a light bulb went off and she said, "Macy, can be the HILL!!"

Your grandparents, aunts, and uncles absolutely adore you and give you everything you want already. Papaw and Mimi love to play with you and hold you. Nee Nee loves watching you crawl around the floor and playing with all the new toys she has bought you. Which is usually ALOT. We also never have to worry about clothing you. Mimi gets you a new little outfit or dress just about everytime she visits and when we go in to visit Nee Nee we know that the she has bought everything from Gymboree's newest line. Even matching shoes that I can't wait for you to be ale to fit in! We LOVE this. You are so fun to dress up!

This morning, while I was getting you dressed and playing peek a boo, you crawled up to me, pressed your nose against my cheek and smiled. There are only a few moments in life as sweet as this. Thank you so much for that. We love you so much and can't wait to watch you grow even more! I love being your mommy.

Mothers Day

We ended up having a great Mothers Day just relaxing and spending time with family. BUT check out how it started:

2AM: Macy throws up ALL over herself and crib. I changed her sheets, changed her diaper where she had just emptied her whole bowel system, then we lay her down with us where she falls right to sleep. Then we just stare at her. For a while. Her tiny little body, arms folded peacefully behind her head, sweet little lips, watching the rise and fall of her chest. Then around 2:45 I realize I'm not going to get any sleep because I'm just going to stare and kiss on her  all night so I pick her up and place her in her crib where she never even notices.

3:30AM: Maddi walks in and taps on my shoulder. OVER AND OVER. Only to ask me what time it is and if she should get up now or later.

4:00 Maddi comes back in the room to inform me that she just peed in her bed and WILL NOT go back in there to sleep. So I clean her off and she sleeps on the couch.

HELLO DON"T YOU KNOW IT"S MOTHERS DAY

8:00 Macy wakes up. I stretch and yawn for a while.

8:15 I roll out of bed to go get Macy who has diarrhea all over her sheets now! YAY! Happy Mothers Day! Yay! Maddi is awake and coloring and working on a puzzle. I'm not even sure if she slept on the couch. Has she been coloring since 4:00 AM?? Oh well. She's in a great mood and gave me some sweet hugs and kisses all morning. I'd like to think it's because she knew it was Mothers Day but I'm pretty sure it's because I made her cinnamon toast. And she'll do anything for that.

8:45 Josh is getting ready for Church and I'm getting Maddi ready. Which goes something like this: Maddi, see this dress? Repeat after me. "I will put this dress on. Then I will put my sandals on" She repeats it until I think she means it and then I go change ANOTHER diarrhea diaper from Macy and make Macy her breakfast. I come back to Maddi's room and she's sitting on her knees on top of her dress finishing up her puzzle.

9:20 Josh and Maddi leave for Church and it's just Macy and I and all of Macy's bowel movements.

11:30 Josh and Maddi come home and we all go to Walmart to grab a few things before my family comes over for Mothers Day because Roadhouse was too crowded and Macy wasn't feeling well.

12:30 Finally all my family is here! We ate and visited for a while then watched the basketball and baseball games. I love getting to spend time with them.

Macy is now feeling much better and back to her sweet playful self.

Next week is orientation for my new job and I'm starting to get more excited about it! I love getting to be a stay at home mom and getting to go to all of Maddi's class events. This is just a PRN position so I can pick the days that I can work. I've thought about going back full time once Macy gets a little older, but I probably won't. I loved having my mom home with us when we were younger and I love spending time with these sweet girls. Even at 2AM.

MAY

Is finally here!
Macy turns ONE this month and Josh graduates! SO excited for both!

We will be moving back to Longview at the first of next month. I think I'll miss the Church that we're members of most. We have SUCH a good pastor. I ENJOY going and listening to what Pastor Dikes has to say. I went to Church when I was younger because WE ARE A FAMILY AND WE WILL ALL ATTEND EVERY SUNDAY SO SHUT UP AND ACT HAPPY. My brother, Trip, and I would always go look for donuts that were left over in the Sunday School rooms so that we'd be a  bit late to the actual service. Maybe, if we were lucky, we'd miss the singing of the HYMNALS. Trip would usually fall asleep in my moms lap and I'd play hangman BY MYSELF or draw a picture of a beach. Anything that would last until the invitation when I would BEG my mom to let me go pick up Taylor early. I LOVED running through the halls and down the stairs to pick him up from the nursery. Maybe it's because I'm older and OBVIOUSLY SO MUCH WISER, that I enjoy going now. Anyways, yesterday Pastor Dikes did a thing called "You know you're a baptist if.."
One of my favorites was, "You know you're a baptist if you really believe Jesus turned water into Welch's grape juice."

I got a new job in Longview at Good Shepherd working in their Surgical ICU. I start mid May and am pretty excited/nervous about it. This excitement will wear off the first day when I have to eat hospital cafeteria food for breakfast and lunch. I have to do a week of orientation from 8-5 which means my parents, brothers, and neighborhood kids will all get to keep Macy. You better act good Mace, you and Maddi are our only shot into their will. And I NEED that Starbucks card and antique furniture. You sleep SO good over there in your little round crib. This makes no sense by the way. If we just THINK of tip toeing past your room here you're wide awake in seconds. Jumping in your crib all "Where we going?? Where we going?? Mom?? Mom?? Hey HUMANS WHERE ARE WE GOING?? My brothers can run up the stairs MAKING THE HOUSE TREMBLE and you'll stay sleeping. Or, even better, your mimi can talk on the phone and you stay asleep! She is THE LOUDEST PERSON ON PLANET EARTH while she is talking on the phone. I don't think that deaf person can hear you mom, maybe if you SCREAMED A LITTLE LOUDER the windows would explode and there would be ONE LESS BARRIER. You can sleep through it all over there. And soon, you will LOVE all the noise and excitement as much as your sister does. Always something new and fun.

Too bad my mom isn't coming here to watch Macy. Before I even make it to Longview from Tyler, she could wash the dishes, fold all my laundry, mop my entire house, paint the girls rooms, and plant all new flowers. If I hit a lot of red lights she could also mow the yard and repaint my kitchen cabinets.

Josh has fallen asleep while reading to Maddi a few times last week, and when I would go in her room, I was reminded of why she doesn't sleep with us. She sleeps EXACTLY like I do. Like she's practicing karate in her sleep. She's never under the covers or even lying parallel with the bed. Her body is usually in some impossible position like her knees all the way to her forehead. She also can wiggle her way out of the bed so that her whole body is on the floor except for her head. Like she's using her mattress as a pillow. We don't dare wake her up.

I have been making some outfits for some friends and for some baby showers that I've gone too. I hope  to be able to keep doing this for more showers. It probably won't happen though. I'm lazy like that.

We have some friends that are having twins! One girl and one boy!

My awesome brothers

My favorite men. Look at Taylor!

LOVE my mom and sister! Where's Brooke??

There we go!

Sweet Macy and Mimi

Just some pictures

Because I'm too tired to write anything!
Also, the last time I wrote something when I worked a night shift and had gotten no sleep, I rambled on about a conversation Maddi and I had about farts. Because EVERYTHING is so funny when you're exhausted.

Sweet Little Manny

She could run all day long!

Loves to dance!

Do you see what I see? CURLS! Just like Maddi had

We love watching her play
