Sick Girl

We had a great weekend. I worked Friday night and then slept a little when I got home Saturday morning. We had a very relaxing Saturday. I made a few outfits for the girls and Josh cleaned out the garage and helped me out around the house. On Sunday, Maddi woke up with a 103 temp! She laid on the couch most of the day and woke up every four hours to get tylenol or motrin. She started feeling a little bit better last night but was able to stay home from school today. She will be without a fever for 24 hours around 10:00 tonight! She's excited about going back to school tomorrow.

Macy's little tooth is becoming more and more visible and now she has something in her mouth at all times. She is crawling so well now and starting to pull up on things alot more. She's growing so fast!

I have Women's Bible Study tomorrow and MOPS on Thursday! So excited about both of these!

Last night Maddi and I were talking and she said,
"Mom, can my nickname be Mo?"
"Sure, Mo"
"Wait nevermind I want to be called corn-head."
....

Here are the little outfits/ shirt I made for the girls.
The jumper is  for Macy and shirt for Maddi

Love

Our 5th wedding anniversary is coming up in about 3 more weeks! For years 1-4 we have gone out to eat to celebrate. Although I think I had to work last year. Anyways, we usually go eat and enjoy each others company and conversation.  Our first anniversary we went to Butcher Shop.  Looking back this might have been one of my favorites. (It wasn't so cool at the time)  Explains exactly who we are. At the time we were both working and going to school full time and raising Maddi. We were just happy to get to visit with one another!Oh, and we chose Butcher Shop because we had a gift card ;)

Anyways, since we both have graduated, with the exception of Josh's MBA, both have jobs, I figured I would do something better for the big 5. Nothing huge, just better. I am working a few more days at work instead of my regular 3-4 shifts per month. I have a few ideas in mind but am still thinking about it. I am wanting to plan it all since Josh is in school and fixing to start tax season. I am really really excited about it!

Maddi has some neat school projects that we are going to be working on this weekend. I'm also pretty excited about this. I'll post pictures of them soon!

Refreshed

Today we had our Women's Bible Study at Green Acres. I'm so glad that I'm going to this. I always feel much more thankful for my husband and kids. It makes me want to be a better wife and mom. I love the topic that Ken (A marriage and family counselor) teaches us and I love his approach. I also love that they offer a free nursery during this time. Just getting to talk to other women for a few uninterrupted  hours is very refreshing. Oh and they have coffee.    :)

One of the verses today was 1 Peter 3:1
Wives, in the same way you submit yourselves to your own husbands so that, if any of them do not believe the Word, they may be won over without words by the behavior of their wives, when they see the purity and reverence of your lives.

Afterwards, I had lunch with a very good friend Allison. We went to Newks which is apparently very busy at lunchtime! I had a great time visiting and eating. Macy was exhausted by the time we came home and fell asleep on my shoulder as we were walking into the house. I loved it.

Isn't she sweet?

Josh starts school back tonight and Maddi has gymnastics (for 2 hours!). Let the craziness begin.

Finished!

I finally finished Macy's outfit. The pants and the shirt are done and best of all they fit great! This is a first. I love how it turned out and can't wait to make her many more.

I worked last Saturday and Josh, Maddi and Macy went to Academy and got Maddi a new bike! (I accidently ran over her old one) It's a larger bike and she loves it. I can't wait to teach her how to ride without training wheels. She's very nervous about that. While I was at work, Josh and the girls cleaned up the whole house! How nice it was to come home to a clean home. It's something I love most.

We all slept in on Sunday. This was great and much needed! I finally took the Christmas decorations and tree down. The house looks so bare now! Today, Maddi was out of school for MLK day. We all got up early and went to Mcdonalds to get breakfast then went grocery shopping. Maddi and I were supposed to split the breakfast platter, (3 pancakes, 2 eggs, 1 sausage, 1 biscuit, and 1 hash brown), but when she was through there was only half of a biscuit left! And Macy wanted that. These girls have one great metabolism! We spent two hours at walmart grocery shopping. Both girls were great. I enjoy getting to spend times like this just shopping with my kids. (Even if it is just for groceries) Maddi always says/does something really funny and Macy is just happy to be along for the ride. Also, Walmart had some fabric for $1/yard! I got 4 yards and it should be enough for both girls a new spring dress.

When we got back home, my mom, Brooke, and Jessica all came by to visit for a while. They also brought us some McAllisters. I love McAllisters. I loved visiting with all of them! We made some frames and did some redecorating. I love my moms decorating skills!

Today we are going into Longview when Josh gets off work to go celebrate his birthday! Maddi loves going to visit family and has not stopped running around dancing since she got home. Macy and I went to my dermatologist appt. today where we waited for 1 hour! Macy did great and was passed around by all the older women. She loved the attention. Most of the time:) I found some fabric at Hobby Lobby that I love! It's much closer to what I have been looking for. I went ahead and made Macy some pants. I will make the matching top in a few days. Here's a little sneak peek! :)
Maddi loves her new lunch kit. Thanks Mimi!

What a day.

Today started out with me putting two contacts in one eye. Macy woke up early with a little rash. She wanted to be held all day long. Maddi cried about the buttons on her jacket all morning before she left for school. Gotta love mornings like this.

We have snow! This is a very big deal to Maddi and she loves it. It snowed about 3 days ago and she had so much fun. Her and Josh built a snowman, had a snowball fight, and her and I played a game of chase. All in the snow. We had a great time. There is still some ice on the ground and the snowman has fallen over but is still in our front yard. I'm ready for it to all go away now. 3 days is enough.

Maddi had gymnastic tryouts last Saturday to get on pre-team and she made it! Her gym class is from 6-8 twice a week. She is very very tired by the time it's over. And very lovely the next morning..
Maddi also learned how to make her own peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and turkey and cheese sandwiches. This Is Awesome.

Macy is now pulling up on her crib and babbles until someone will come get her. Maddi usually runs in there the second she hears her. I love watching this.

This is Josh's last week before he starts school back. He's also the big 23 on Friday. :)

I sewed my first two outfits today!!!! This also means that nothing around the house got done. One day without laundry, dishes, vacuuming, mopping, is fine with me. But I'm ready for it to all be neat, clean, and back in order. Maybe tomorrow. Anyways I sewed the yellow one for Maddi (originally for Macy but I think I messed up on the measurements at the store) and the black zebra sparkly one is now Macys. Oh well, she'll never know. I still haven't been able to find fabric that I like a whole lot. I did these for practice. Macy and I can go to Hobby Lobby today to look there. I think I even have a gift card!

Haha I took a really funny picture of Josh. He then took the camera, deleted the picture, and took this one of me trying to get the camera back.  I just saw it on here when I uploaded the other pictures. I can't stop laughing thinking of that picture.

We love us some Shrek Memory!

Some of the girls at tryouts.

Josh, Maddi, and Jack the snowman.

Macy's little dress. This is the front.

The back of Macy's dress.

Maddi's little outfit. Still need bottom ruffles on shirt.

Macy Gracey Lou

Happy 8 Months Macy Lou!
You are crawling everywhere, babbling dada and mama, smiling and laughing constantly, pulling up on some things, and chewing on everything. Still no teeth yet.  You love fruits over vegetables (who doesn't?), sisters Fancy Nancy doll, and you still love your sleep. We love this just as much as you do! You love when Maddi sings her made up songs to you, you love playing in her room, and you love attention. We love your sweet personality, your silly laugh, and your crazy hair. What a joy you have been to us these past 8 months! We love you so much.

Sew What

Josh bought me a sewing machine for Christmas that I was really excited about! (Never thought I'd say that) I bought some patterns and now need some fabric to make some cute little girl clothes. Any ideas on where to get some good fabric?? I've looked at Hancocks here in Tyler and saw some cute things, but was looking for something a little different. Oh and by good, I mean inexpensive. :) I have youtubed a ton of videos and now I really want to start. Like now. I'm really bad about that.

I worked a night shift on Tuesday night at ETMC. I love getting to stay at home and take care of my girls but it is very nice to also get to see some friends and work and take care of people. I feel much more productive at work then I do when I'm at home. I think everyone needs that. I look forward to Maddi getting home at 3 and Josh getting home around 6 so much. I feel like there days are so interesting!

Maddi's class went to Barnes and Noble on Wednesday and got to pick out a book to buy. Maddi chose The Secret Garden with the necklace. I loved those books when I was little. Then I realized she didn't really care about the book, she just wanted the "gold" key necklace. She wore it to school today- paired with her awesome tye-died peace T-shirt, not Joe's Crab Shack, and her skinny jeans. She is one fashion forward girl.

I'm doing so bad on my New Years goals it's unreal. I have yet to pick up a book to read and I'm less organized if anything. I have also not finished Macy's new little cabinet thing for her room! But I did get my hair done, watched the bachelor, spent way to long looking at sewing videos and fabric, and found some new recipes. I've got to work on this! Maybe I should be doing that now?

Maddi and Macy took their first bath together last night. Looking back now I can say that it was pretty funny. Maddi swam around Macy almost knocking her down, (don't worry Josh and I were both right there) they both ate bubbles (yes, both) and took several pictures with bubbles on top of their heads. In every picture Macy looks really scared and Maddi is smiling ear to ear. Maddi later told me that that was "her most fun thing she has ever done with Macy." I don't think Macy would say the same.

Maddi just came in and asked to play outside, I said yes and she replied "Well hot dog hot dog hot diggity dog" Then ran off.

2011

We have been busy lately visiting with friends and family! On Thursday, My mom, sister, Maddi, Macy, and I all went to Canton! We all had a great time! I bought a new piece of furniture for Macy's room that I am now stripping, sanding, and painting. I hope it turns out how I picture it would -so far it's not. Maddi was happy with some new "oinmaments" (She has never realized that everyone else pronounces them as oRnaments)

:)

Yesterday, at Church, our Pastor made a comment about us being humbly grateful or gratefully hateful. It made me think about a lot of things I was grateful for and how I rarely show it. One in particular is my husband. (This just dawned on me yesterday at Church how I should be much more humbly grateful for him.) Yikes! Never does he complain if supper isn't ready when he gets home (which is often) or if the house isn't super clean. He wants me to be a stay at home mom. He loves spending time with our girls. He works full time, goes to graduate school full time, and helps me with chores around the house. He loves me. I am so grateful for our relationship. I love love love my husband!

On Friday we celebrated new years eve and on Saturday we went and visited with some friends of ours in Tyler and Maddi played with the other kids. She loves playing with other kids! She left her ball on accident, (Mcdonalds happy meal ball) and cried most of the way home because of it. We have it back now and I can't wait to show it to her when she gets out of school. She will be so so happy.

Macy is crawling now!! We are so proud of her and love watching her crawl towards something, get distracted by something else, turn her little body, and go. Everything goes straight from her little hand to her mouth. Maddi will watch her grab something, watch her slowly put it in her mouth, then come running to me as soon as she has it in her mouth. Oh Manny. Josh took Maddi on a little date before the long holiday break was over and she had to go back to school. Maddi loves these times when she has Josh all to herself. Josh had to get a haircut so Maddi got to sit in the chair with him and watch. Then they went and saw Narnia in 3D. Maddi enjoyed it a lot and was already asleep by the time they made it home. We tucked her in bed and put the rest of her movie candy on her bedside table. She had told Josh to make sure and tell me not to eat it! haha.

Maddi was very tired getting up this morning for school. We all were really. We enjoy our sleep! She got her favorite cinnamon toast for breakfast to help her wake up. She later told me I was the best mom for making that. If it was healthier, or healthy at all for that matter, I'd make it every morning just to hear that! My goals for this new year are to read at least one book per week, become more organized, plan out my days (meals, shopping, exercising, cleaning) and to try to simplify as much as I can. Josh graduates with his MBA in May. Tax season starts in another month or so. Josh has a tough 4 months ahead of him, luckily he's very smart!:)  When it's over with, we'll have a 6 year old and a 1 year old. Time for another one, Josh? :) I'm kidding, everybody. I would love to have lots and lots of kids and then adopt lots and lots of kids. Unfortunately, that would require me to work a "real" job. And that's not happening. Maddi will be home from school soon so Macy and I will have to go wait outside for her. Macy LOVES when she is home. Never a dull moment. Or quiet!
